About   the   picture

A stormy morning nearly put an end to this photography trip before it began. I trekked down to the Venus Bay beach in hope of a break in the rains. With luck, I got it as I pulled into the carpark. I made my way down to the beach and battled the gruelling winds that cut through. Sand, blasted its way along the surface, scouring everything in its path.

The wild ocean roared as the waves crashed and pushed their way up the beach. A lone seagull, too scared to fly, paddled in the shallows, waiting for a break in the wind to make its way to shelter. In the distance people craziness to brave these brutal conditions, made their way along the battered beach. The scene was set for a beautifully dramatic image.
