While shooting the corporate video Nano Power, I was able to finish the shoot a day earlier than expected. Oh, what's a filmmaker to do with an extra day of film equipment and nothing to do???
This apparently.
I had always wanted to work on a western movie but never had the chance. So I thought it might be cool to shoot an intro logo for my production company Hysteria Productions. Knowing I wanted Chris Daniels and myself to be in front of the camera, friend and collaborator Brad Armel came along to help shoot it.
The three of us literally got in the car with all the gear and drove until we found a cool location, unpacked and shot it in someone's field. Thankfully, they never knew.
With the footage in the can, I let it sit for a few months until I had some spare time to piece it together. I added some visual effects of lightning hitting a tree and sparks falling to the ground and also had to cover up a logo on my t-shirt which I can't believe I didn't think of on the day.
Below is a version of the film with the raw edit. No effects, no colour grade, just what came out of the camera.
