Lost: Black Earth

Date released - July 17, 2004

About   the   movie

Lost: Black Earth was my first attempt at directing a feature film. With a band of volunteers, we filmed on weekends for six months in 1999. After a short break to rejuvenate, I settled in for the long haul of editing the movie together, creating all the visual effects and sound design.

In 2003 I was nearing completion of the movie when fellow filmmaker Colin Paxman organised a screening of one of his films "Soul To Keep". Knowing that many of the cast and crew were the same people, I thought it'd be fun to show a much-anticipated trailer for Lost.

So I threw this together in a couple of days using music created by Matt Farugia, who scored the whole movie and a song I was working on for the end credits with friend Mark Bullen.

The trailer came together nicely and was well received by all who attended. Now with the advent of YouTube, what was created for a one-time viewing has been given the opportunity to be seen by many.
